The Rosson House Museum
See how an MD and family lived in 1870 when Phoenix had 6,000 residents. The Museum combines a bit of history, a look at an old and restored Victorian home and has a very interesting doctor’s home office. The Rosson House Museum is located in Heritage Square, so there are other buildings of the period located there as well.
All tours last approximately 60 minutes. The maximum number of people per tour is 12. Groups of 8 or more require reservations.

st mary’s basilica
Be prepared to blown away by the Spanish revival architecture of the 2nd oldest church in Phoenix. You can go for a visit or for a scheduled mass.

Arizona science center
Three floors of fun activities for the young kids, teens and adults with young heart. Kids love the water activities. Any kids younger than 3 are free admission. Movies and new exhibit are separate entrance fee. For members you can get reduce tickets to the movies and exhibit.

wells fargo history museum
Half the Wells Fargo History Museum focuses on life in the Western US during the late 1800s. The other half is a spectacular collection of Western art built around one of the largest collections of N.C. Wyeth oil paintings in the country. The art alone is worth the stop at this museum in the heart of downtown Phoenix. It’s good for individuals, couples and families with children of all ages. FREE

children’s museum of phoenix
You could easily spend 3 to 5 hours here so come prepared! There are so many hands on things for kids and adults to do, several levels of fun with cool things tucked into side hallways, nooks and crannies. It is very well thought out. The activities are inviting and meaningful. Kids can build with giant foam blocks, walk through a noodle forest, ride small trikes through a car wash, shop in a store, bake in a restaurant, make ice cream cones, hotdogs and more. There are interactive learning activities, music makers, a post office and LOTS of spaces to read and books to read.
